Sharjah: In what would be a welcome news into the new year for all motor vehicle enthusiasts in the Emirate of Sharjah, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has officially sanctioned the formation of Sharjah Old Cars Club.
The Ruler of Sharjah issued Emiri Decree No. (51) of 2021, mandating the establishment of a club specialised in social and cultural sports affairs for car enthusiasts and old bikes in the emirate.
SHARJAH OLD CARS CLUB
The newly formed club will be governed by Sharjah Sports Council and will have its headquarters in the city of Sharjah with provisions for branches in other cities and regions within the emirate in the future.
As per the Decree, the Club will be managed by a Board of Directors comprising of a Chairman, Vice-Chairman and other members of the Board. The Ruler of Sharjah or His Highness’s Representative will decide on the Board Members who are expected to choose a Vice-Chairman from among themselves at the first board meeting.
Each Board Member will have a tenure of four years which may be extended given that the board continues to conduct its business at the termination of its term until a new board is formed or the expired board is renewed.
The body is expected to comply with relevant federal and local legislation, regulations, and bylaws, with Board of Directors, the supreme authority, undertaking the Club’s business and its affairs and working to achieve its objectives
Numerous administrative and financial procedures and the organizational structure are also part of the newly issued Decree.
