Sharjah: The Sharjah Union Day Celebrations Committee has unveiled a lineup of events for the UAE’s 53rd National Day (Eid Al Etihad), highlighting the nation’s enduring resilience, unity, and achievements.
Union Day presents an opportunity for UAE residents to reaffirm their loyalty to the country and its leaders, with each emirate contributing to the spirit of solidarity through diverse celebrations.
Sharjah will commemorate this occasion from November 21 to December 2 with a variety of events across its cultural and tourist landmarks.
Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Committee, congratulated the UAE leadership and expressed gratitude to Sharjah’s Executive Council for organizing the celebrations.
Midfa emphasized the significance of these events for both citizens and residents, stating, “Union Day reaffirms our national identity as a nation that values tolerance and global connections. We invite everyone to join in the celebrations, honoring our leadership’s vision and the UAE’s achievements.”
Al Midfa noted that the anniversary also reinforces the UAE’s position as a prominent destination for tourism, investment, and progress.
The schedule for National Day festivities;
Sharjah National Park: From November 21 to December 2, the park will feature artistic performances, entertainment, competitions, and educational workshops in collaboration with government entities.
Al Dhaid City: A national march on November 27 will proceed from the Grand Mosque to Al Dhaid Fort, with government bodies and students participating. Folklore performances will follow from November 28 to December 1.
Al Bataeh Area: Celebrations from November 28 to 30 will focus on heritage and national pride, including folk parades, classic car and horse displays, and performances by local artists. The “Union Bus” will tour neighborhoods, distributing flags and gifts, and traditional art displays and children’s activities will be held in parks.
Mleiha: Events on November 21 will include a national march, folk performances, competitions, and a communal dinner at the Heritage Village. Local families can showcase their products, while government institutions provide information to visitors.
Kalba: From November 23 to 25, Kalba will host a national march, the Kalba Operetta, a car parade, and traditional games.
Wadi Al Helo: Festivities on November 24 will include folk performances, poetry readings, and awards.
Khorfakkan: From November 22 to 24, the Khorfakkan Amphitheater will offer art workshops, activities for children, poetry, and a performance by the Al Mazyood military band, concluding with a musical folk show and competitions. Events will feature local businesses, youth council discussions, and activities for different age groups. A musical evening on December 1 will support The Big Heart Foundation.
Dibba Al Hisn: Events on November 23 include a public march, folklore performances, and a national operetta, featuring poetry, folk, and military segments.
Al Madam: On November 22, Al Madam will host heritage displays, children’s activities, poetry readings, and an evening fireworks show.
Al Hamriyah: Celebrations on November 27 and 28 at Al Hamriyah Beach Park and Creek will begin with a national anthem and include a march along the beach, folk songs, poetry, and interactive children’s workshops.
Events will conclude with a communal dinner and additional cultural, sporting, and musical performances.
