Sharjah: Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi recently unveiled the library of Fine Arts and Design College (FADC) at the University of Sharjah.
After the inauguration ceremony, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was taken to a tour through the new library where he was updated about its departments, services and its contents, which were developed to keep pace with the increase in the number of students enrolled in the college and the increasing need for specialized sources and references in all its forms, and to support the college’s academic programs, scientific research and continuing education.
The library is capable of accommodating 100+ students and has a wireless and advanced technological environment. The facility also contains computers, a multimedia hall, classrooms for groups, and spaces for working on projects.
NETWORKED RESOURCES
The Internet services in the library are linked to the University of Sharjah’s multiple libraries network, enabling faculty and students of the college to access all electronic information sources in the library, exchange information, and attend courses offered remotely.
The library of Fine Arts and Design College at the University of Sharjah includes print and electronic resources, with more than 12,000 printed books distributed over various academic programs. The library also has 8,000 e-books for references.
On the sidelines of the inauguration, Sheikh Sultan toured the corridors of the Fine Arts and Design College, where he visited a number of its laboratories and classrooms to review the latest educational methods and various facilities that support the theoretical and practical education process.
