Abu Dhabi: Tawam Hospital, part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and a subsidiary of the PureHealth Group, the UAE’s largest integrated healthcare platform, has announced the conclusion of the first Al Ain Maxillofacial Symposium at the Ayla Grand Hotel, Al Ain City, Abu Dhabi.
The interactive symposium featured multidisciplinary team participation from a variety of sector disciplines, including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery (ENT), Head and Neck (H&N), Plastic Surgery, Dentistry, and allied practitioners (nursing, speech therapy, and dental tech, among others).
The symposium, organised by Tawam Hospital, served as an academic forum for experts from the UAE, GCC, and UK to discuss advanced care in complex craniomaxillofacial and head and neck conditions.

The Maxillofacial Surgery Department is extremely proud to have organised the first-ever Al Ain Maxillofacial Symposium on behalf of PureHealth, SEHA, and Tawam Hospital. With internationally renowned speakers touching upon a wide spectrum of topics, including recent technological advances, specialty training, research, outcome data, and multidisciplinary practice, this proved to be a highly engaging and insightful event.

“The organising committee put together an engaging agenda, including panel discussions focusing on key patient-related aspects of practice. Going forward, Tawam Hospital and SEHA, a PureHealth asset, will remain committed to furthering the global exchange of knowledge around the advancements in the field of maxillofacial surgery and related fields,” the chairman added.

The symposium agenda included compelling sessions from local, regional, and international speakers. Dr. Eiad Qudairat from the UK delivered an engaging session on “Facial Beauty and Aesthetic Surgery,” while Dr. Hala Abuzaid from the UAE spoke on “Critical Care Role in Multi-disciplinary Management of OMFS Patients.”
From a regional perspective, Dr. Mohammed Kamal from Kuwait shared a talk on “Research and Academic OMFS in the GCC: Focus on Kuwait.” Dr. Mohammed Al-Muharraqi of Bahrain and Dr. Ahmed Al-Hashmi of Oman both gave presentations on “OMFS Training & Services in Bahrain” and “Outcomes of Management of Common TMD Problems: 14 Years of Experience,” respectively.
