Dubai: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) have collaborated on a new initiative to support the Dubai Government’s strategy and vision.
The primary goal of the initiative is to provide top-notch services that enhance Dubai’s reputation as a hub for digital companies and organizations that operate in private and commercial transportation. The initiative will primarily benefit businesses located within the DMCC Free Zone that offer services on digital and smart platforms.
After signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the DMCC’s Almas Tower headquarters, the two parties made the announcement. The MoU was signed by Mr. Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, the CEO of the RTA’s Licensing Agency, and Ms. Ferial Ahmadi, the Chief Operating Officer of the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre.
The DMCC is the legally authorised entity responsible for issuing commercial and financial licenses to companies and establishments operating within the DMCC Free Zone. Mr. Abdulla Yousef Al Ali, expressed his delight with the signing of the MoU, considering it the first step toward forging a sustainable partnership with DMCC.
“The MoU aims to enhance cooperation in overseeing private and commercial transport activities and car rental services in Dubai and delivering excellent services to individual and corporate customers in this regard,” the CEO remarked.
Under the MoU, the DMCC will refer investors and companies that wish to engage in private and commercial transport activities outside the DMCC Free Zone or within the scope of the RTA’s jurisdiction to obtain the necessary permits from the RTA. The DMCC will work in collaboration with the RTA to assist investors in regularizing their business activities and facilitate RTA employees’ monitoring and control within areas under the DMCC’s authority.
