Dubai: The Rotary International Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai recently welcomed Ms. Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment.
A renowned entity across the globe, Rotary International is an international service organization which intends to unite business and professional leaders with an ambition to provide humanitarian service and to spread goodwill and peace around the world.
Rotary International’s global network has unified 1.4 million business leaders, experts, and problem solvers to date for discussing and resolving major global challenges faced in the day and age.
During her visit to the Expo 2020 Dubai Pavilion, Ms. Almheiri was updated about the organization’s background, nature of work, and cultural and social values. The UAE Minister was also educated about Rotary International’s regional and international programs that focus on promoting peace, fighting diseases, supporting education, and protecting the environment.
The UAE Minister on the other hand, pointed out the commitment made by the UAE to accelerate climate action following the 26th UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), held last November in Glasgow.
Ms. Almheiri briefed about the country’s initiatives as well as its vision and objectives for hosting COP28 in 2023.
