Dubai: Dubai Health has performed over 145 successful robotic surgeries at Dubai Hospital since launching its robotic surgery program in the second half of 2022.
The achievement highlights the hospital’s dedication to adopting innovative medical technologies to enhance patient care and healthcare quality.
His Excellency Dr. Amer Sharif, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Health, stated that, “This marks a milestone in the digital transformation of our healthcare system and reflects our commitment to leveraging advanced medical technologies and solutions that elevate the quality of care, in line with our vision to Advance Health for Humanity.”
Dubai Health has strengthened its digital infrastructure across all hospitals and health centers in its integrated academic health system. Guided by its ‘Patient First’ promise, the organization equips medical teams with technologies that improve accuracy and safety, contributing to a seamless patient journey and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leader in quality healthcare.
Dr. Yaser AlSaeedi, Head of Urology and Director of the Robotic Surgery program at Dubai Health, noted that, “Robotic surgeries at Dubai Health represent a significant step forward in the use of smart technologies in the operating room. This approach has increased surgical precision, strengthened patient safety, and led to improved outcomes.”

Robotic surgeries have proven highly effective, reducing blood loss by over 90 per cent, shortening recovery times, and lowering complications and pain. This minimally invasive method allows patients to recover faster and return to normal life sooner. Dr. AlSaeedi added that specialized procedures over the past three years have consistently demonstrated strong clinical outcomes.
Training medical staff in robotic surgical systems remains essential for ensuring safe and effective procedures. Dubai Health combines theoretical learning with hands-on practice to equip practitioners with the skills needed for licensing and regulated use of these advanced systems.
Robotic surgeries at Dubai Health cover multiple specialties, including urology, general surgery, and gynecology. Surgeons use robotic systems that provide high-precision 3D visualization and control over robotic arms inside the body.
This approach uses small incisions rather than a single large one, minimizing tissue disruption, reducing infection risks, and improving post-operative comfort. Patients benefit from enhanced outcomes, less pain, and a higher quality of life.
The Robotic Surgery Dubai Health program underlines Dubai Hospital’s commitment to patient-centric care, innovation, and global standards. By integrating cutting-edge technologies, the hospital continues to transform surgical care and offer safer, more precise, and efficient treatments across a wide range of procedures.
