Abu Dhabi: The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) since its establishment in 1995, has played a significant role in transforming the UAE into a premier global destination for golf.
With world-class infrastructure and facilities, the nation has become a magnet for international golf stars, hosting prestigious tournaments like the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and the DP World Tour.
The EGF has focused on nurturing a strong base of young players to represent the UAE at international competitions. Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the EGF, highlighted the success of the ‘Future Falcons’ program, which has seen significant growth, hosting monthly tournaments to develop talent at the grassroots level.
“The UAE’s success in golf is rooted in its exceptional infrastructure, diverse programs, and dedicated efforts to make the game accessible to all,” said Sheikh Fahim.
The UAE encourages over 26 golf courses across the Emirates and has more than 9,000 registered players, with over 40,000 enthusiasts engaging with the sport nationwide.
Eight national golf teams, including U13, U15, and U18 categories, actively represent the country in international events.
The UAE’s national teams have celebrated notable victories in global competitions. At the Pan Arab Ladies’ and Youth Golf Championships in Tunisia, the teams secured seven medals. Similarly, the UAE Cubs golf team achieved double gold- team and individual, at the GCC Golf Championships in Muscat.
The UAE’s prominence on the global golf stage continues to rise. In 2025, it will host seven international tournaments, including three in the prestigious Rolex Series. Highlights include:
