Ras Al Khaimah, UAE: The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has expanded its campus by launching its two new buildings, the three-story Saqr Library building and the Abdulla Bin Ali Al Sharhan Arts and Sciences building.
Both the facilities and the sites were officially inaugurated by Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, reiterating his vision of ‘education being the main key of human development, and investment in people is real investment carried out by the UAE to meet current and future challenges.’
The Saqr Library is housed in a three-story structure with a 35,000-square-foot floor area. It has more than 250,000 physical books and 300,000 e-books and periodicals. It also has a lounge area, a modern café, meeting rooms, study rooms, a room for private collections, an auditorium, and a private collection room.
The 75,000-square-foot Abdulla Bin Ali Al Sharhan Arts and Sciences complex is a specialized state-of-the-art facility with 16 classrooms, 12 science labs, and two audio and video studios. The labs provide students with research resources in linguistics, cell culture, physics, chemistry, and microbiology.
The building houses classrooms for General Education, Undergraduate students majoring in Biotechnology and Mass Communication, Master’s students majoring in Educational Leadership, and Postgraduate diplomas in Education students.
Mr. Mohammed Omran Al Shamsi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Hassan Hamdan Al Alkim, the President of AURAK, as well as faculty, senior dignitaries, and top management from the University, attended the ceremony.
The two buildings with state-of-the-art facilities are a brand new addition to the 1.3 million sq. ft. AURAK campus where students from over 50 nationalities study. The new facilities have been designed to the highest global standards. They will enable us to raise the bar further on our integrated American-style undergraduate and graduate programs, accredited by local and prestigious international organizations.

AURAK provides offers several Bachelor, Master, and Post-Graduate diploma programs covering, but not limited to Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Biotechnology, and Engineering through the Center for Executive and Professional Education (CEPE).
