Sharjah: Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) concluded the “Pink Caravan” initiative with a record-breaking 16,511 breast cancer screenings conducted across the UAE, achieving unmatched reach and community engagement.
Utilizing eight fixed clinics and more than 111 mobile units, the campaign provided free screenings, mammograms, and ultrasounds, reinforcing the critical message of early detection and routine screenings in fighting breast cancer.
In addition to medical services, the campaign also featured a range of activities, including workshops, educational programs, and entertainment events, to engage families and individuals. These efforts aimed to deliver comprehensive support—both medical and psychological—to patients and their families, marking a new milestone for FOCP in public health impact and outreach.
This year’s campaign for breast cancer awareness in the UAE saw extensive support from medical centers, with both fixed and mobile clinics drawing strong participation for early screenings.
Prominent fixed locations included Crescent Petroleum in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Abu Dhabi, Al Marwan Group in Sharjah, and AstraZeneca facilities in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. Dubai’s City Walk also served as a main screening hub.
Medical sponsors for the campaign included Sharjah University Hospital, Advanced Care Medical Centre, Saqr Hospital (Emirates Medical Services), Healthpoint Hospital, Emirates Hospitals, and Clemenceau Medical Centre.
To enhance community engagement, the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) organized a three-day breast cancer awareness event in Aljada. Supported by Crescent Petroleum, Sharjah Media City (Shams), Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Arada, Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), FAST Building Contracting Co., and MSD, the event encouraged screenings and educated participants from various backgrounds, promoting unity through shared health initiatives.
Aisha Al Mulla, FOCP’s Director, highlighted the record-setting number of screenings achieved through Pink Caravan as evidence of growing community awareness about the life-saving importance of early detection.
Aisha praised the nationwide support from medical organizations and expressed heartfelt thanks to all contributors to the campaign’s success. Emphasizing that the battle against breast cancer continues, she pledged FOCP’s commitment to expanding the campaign’s reach and impact annually.
