Dubai: Speaking ahead of the upcoming World Humanitarian Day 2022, Mr. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Suqia UAE (UAE Water Foundation) has revealed that by the end of 2021, 13.6 million+ people were benefitted from Suqia projects spread across 37 countries.
The Suqia UAE Chairman elaborated that, “We are working to consolidate the UAE’s position among the most generous countries around the world. This is through the implementation of development projects and providing potable water to communities suffering from water scarcity and pollution, in cooperation with the concerned organizations locally and globally, and our strategic partners Emirates Red Crescent, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment, Dar Al Ber Society and Dubai Cares.”
“More than 13.6 million beneficiaries have benefited from our projects in 37 countries by the end of 2021. Suqia also supervises the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, with total prize money of $1 million, ” Mr. Al Tayer pointed out.
The Suqia UAE official further added that, “The third cycle of the award aims to encourage research institutions, individuals and innovators from all over the world to find new and innovative technologies for the production, distribution, storage, control, purification and desalination of water using renewable energy. Through the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award and its development projects, Suqia contributes to creating positive and sustainable change and clean water for millions of people around theworld.”

Celebrated on the 19th of August, every year, World Humanitarian Day is a global celebration of people helping people. The Day intends to raise public awareness of humanitarian assistance worldwide and the #HumanitarianHeroes who risk their lives.
