Abu Dhabi: NMC Healthcare, one of the UAE’s largest private healthcare networks, is offering free health screenings on 14th November 2024 to celebrate World Diabetes Day, at select malls and community shopping centers across the UAE.
The screenings, which do not require prior appointments, aim to raise awareness about diabetes and its prevention.
UAE residents can visit NMC kiosks for a basic health check-up, including tests for blood cholesterol, blood glucose, blood pressure, and BMI—key indicators for early diabetes detection and prevention.
Dr. Zakaullah Khan, Chief Clinical Officer of NMC Healthcare, emphasized that diabetes can affect anyone, regardless of age or background. He highlighted that early detection of prediabetes and diabetes enables timely medical intervention and lifestyle changes.
These proactive steps can significantly reduce the risk of serious complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney issues, nerve damage, and vision problems. Khan also noted that World Diabetes Day serves as an important reminder to prioritize regular health check-ups for a healthier future.
