Abu Dhabi: In line with its cultural and religious role to uphold within the community, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre has issued the Hijri calendar for the year 1444 AH, which commenced on July 30, 2022.
The new calendar has vital information on prayer times in the meridian, sunset times in Abu Dhabi and the cities within it, and a group of supplications and hadeeths calling individuals to adhere to good conduct and moral virtue.
The calendar has also incorporated information about the virtue of each Hijri month and related events, details about zodiacs, droor, Ṭāli’s, seasons, major astronomical events related to land and sea conditions and tidal movements of value to the members of the society, and people who deal with this subject.

A NEW CALENDER PACKAGE
This year, the Centre has improved the1444 AH Hijri calendar package to include a hanging calendar which has details about the prayer times in Abu Dhabi and the cities within it, the rise of Suhail, quotes, adages, wisdom, international days, official holidays, and occasions.
The package also contains a Hijri calendar notebook that has descriptions about the Hijri months, associated definitions, corresponding Gregorian months, as well as the coinciding astronomical events, zodiacs, Ṭāli’s, and climate-related features of human activity in sea and agriculture.

Prayer timing variations in soaring towers and buildings and prayer timing variances from one region to another are also included within the package.
The rich content of the Hijri notebook is presented in a concise format making it accessible to members of the society of different age groups, not to mention the glossary of the scientific and astronomical terms.
The notebook is further improved by a set of graphs of interest to those specializing in the fishing industry; explaining the seasons abundant with fish of all kinds, the wind compass, and the names of different types of winds used by ancestors in the past, as well as the seasons of vegetable and fruit crops, in addition to the features of the wild and pastoral environment during the different seasons throughout the year.

THE HIJRI CALENDER SERIES
The Centre continues to publish the episodes of the “Hijri Calendar” ” series, which is part of the project’s components in a brand new format presenting rich religious and cultural content, informing the viewer about the Hijri calendar presented by one of the Centre’s cultural tour specialists simply and attractively, and a distinctive and unique style, including:

- What is the Hijri calendar, its history?
- What do the meridian and sunset times which are related to worship refer to?
- The phases and stages of the moon associated with the Hijri months and their relation to the tides
- The virtues of Hijri months, and the events and facts related to them
Other information which is included in the document is information on how people depended on stars to tell time and their connection to the remembrance in the Holy Qur’an, the importance of the Droor, and Ṭāli’s, and their main features, Emirati poems about them, and how our forefathers and ancestors paid attention to the emergence of the “Suhail”.

THE SMART INTERACTIVE APPLICATION
The Centre has also incorporated the “smart interactive application” recently launched by the Centre for all cities and regions within the UAE each separately to the Hijri calendar for the year 1444 AH, to include everything contained in the paper calendar, including the agenda, information, and unique characteristics, in an easy-to-use technical template.
The application accommodates all the elements of the (Paper Calendar, as well as additional information and special features that have been crafted in a unique user-friendly technical format allowing users to view the prayer times for all cities and regions of the UAE, droor, Ṭāli’s, Zodiacs, seasons, the climatic and natural features of each of them, annual events, tidal movements, details related to the Hijri months and days, and enable prayer times notifications and alerts.

The Hijri calendar application can be downloaded through the “Apple Store” or “Google Play ” or by visiting the website.
The Interactive Calendar application in electronic form allows flexibility to view all the details and contents of the suspended Hijri calendar (calendar) and track prayer times according to days and months with ease.
The Calendar can be downloaded through the website and saved on mobile phones and smart devices for easy reference.

It is worth mentioning that the unified Hijri calendar project for the year 1444 AH in the UAE is carried out according to scientific, sharia, and astronomical foundations, in collaboration with the relevant authorities at all sharia, astronomical, administrative, and coordination levels, including the National Centre of Meteorology, the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and the Environment Authority (Abu Dhabi).
