Abu Dhabi: The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) will host the Crisis and Emergency Management Summit 2023 (CEMS) in Abu Dhabi under the patronage of Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser.
The event will be held on May 9–10 and will explore emergency, crisis, and disaster management mechanisms that raise the readiness of emergency and crisis systems as well as unify global efforts in the sector.
The summit further seeks to strengthen partnerships, enhance international cooperation, and facilitate the exchange of knowledge related to emergencies, crises, and disasters.

We are pleased to announce to host this year’s CEMS edition under the theme ‘Abu Dhabi 2023’. This year we will discuss the vital role of the UAE in strengthening international partnerships in emergency, crisis and disaster management. It will examine the biggest challenges facing the emergency and crisis management sector and the current global trends based on the strategic cooperation between the UAE and several countries, international organisations and other related bodies.
Mr. Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of NCEMA, shared.
“This prominent event will contribute to highlighting forward-looking effective strategies and plans, including the best global standards and practices in the field of emergency and crisis management as well as application of the latest technologies,” the Chairman added.
Mr. Al Neyadi stressed that the community plays a crucial role in dealing with emergencies and crises through pre-emptive preparedness and volunteer campaigns.
The upcoming event is a promising platform with participation across the globe that recognises the importance of continuously developing the emergency, crisis, and disaster management landscape.

In addition, the summit will address the most pressing global challenges and trends in the field as well as encourage the adoption of international best practices, including forecasting and predicting future risks to improve global responses to crises.
The event will highlight national capabilities, specialised personnel, and the outstanding Emirati model for emergency, crisis, and disaster management, which will enhance the UAE’s stature globally.
Furthermore, the summit will discuss the roles of all institutions, including the private sector and civil society, in managing emergencies and crises.
