Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), in collaboration with the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO), has announced the launch of the second season of the ‘Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge, a motorsport series open to competitors of all skill levels.
The championship will include four rounds concluding with the grand finale on 12th April 2025.
With all four rounds taking place across diverse terrains in Abu Dhabi, the event promises exciting racing action and further cements the Emirate’s growing reputation as a motorsport hub.
Originally conceived as a community sports initiative aligned with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s mission, the Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge has quickly evolved into a platform that draws professional racers from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
The first season saw fierce competition, crowning several champions, including:
- Andreas Borgmann- Overall Auto Champion
- Aaron Mare- Moto Category Winner
- Sune Schaffler- Female Cup Champion
- Abdulla Alfalasi- Quad Champion
- Saif Mohamed Bin Saifan- SXS Champion
The second edition will unfold over four rounds:
- Round 1: October 2024
- Round 2: November 2024
- Round 3: January 2025
- Final Round: April 2025
Each race will cover more than 100 kilometers, with the fastest participants expected to complete the course in approximately two hours.
At the season’s conclusion, overall titles will be awarded in the Moto/Quad and Auto SXS categories, recognizing the top performers across all rounds.
The Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge will feature a variety of vehicles and categories, including:
- Autos: T1, T2, T3, T4, SXS Turbo, and SXS Non-Turbo
- Motorcycles: 450cc, Adventure Bikes (650cc+), and 250cc two-stroke bikes
- Quads and Marathon Categories: Open for participants aged 18-44, veterans over 45, and juniors aged 16-18
All participating vehicles must comply with FIA, FIM, or EMSO technical and safety regulations to ensure safety and fair competition.

This championship plays a crucial role in developing the skills of local drivers and preparing them for international competitions.”

Grassroots events like the Abu Dhabi Baja Challenge are essential to promoting motorsport in the region and encouraging the next generation of talent.”
