Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has introduced a new initiative under Operation 300bn called Transform 4.0 at the Make it in the Emirates (MIITE) Forum. This initiative aims to accelerate the adoption of technology in factories across the UAE.
MoIAT introduced Transform 4.0 in accordance with its Technology Transformation Programme (TTP) to assist 100 high-potential manufacturers in the digitalization process. The aim is to form a cohort of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) luminaries within the next three to five years.
The goal of Transform 4.0 is to establish manufacturers in the UAE as leaders in the world of technology adoption and digital transformation projects.
It will help manufacturers implement sustainable manufacturing practices and accelerate their digital transformation.
As part of this program, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked to accelerate digital transformation in manufacturing.
The signatories include MoIAT, Emirates Development Bank (EDB), and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC (du).
Omar Al Suwaidi, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Sarah Al Amiri, the minister of state for public education and advanced technology, observed the signing of the memorandum of understanding.
As one of the technology partners assisting manufacturers in creating and executing the digitalization roadmap, du will play a crucial role in the initiative. Du will provide funding for these manufacturers to further their digitalization.
Transform 4.0 first integrated ACME, a manufacturer of automation solutions for many industries. During the forum, the company inked an agreement with du and EDB to begin the program’s digital transformation journey.
Additionally, MoIAT and Industry Apps inked a memorandum of understanding. Industry Apps is a recently founded business in the United Arab Emirates that offers cutting-edge digital platforms to help businesses advance their digital maturity.
As per the agreement, companies registered in the Transform 4.0 initiative will receive free services valued at AED 5.5 million from Industry Apps.
They will also have access to the dynamic range of apps offered by the company to facilitate the seamless scaling of their digital transformation.
These apps now allow small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to use the same cutting-edge technology and architecture as global industry leaders.
