Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE) has introduced four key services aimed at resolving the status of labor law violators during a designated grace period, offering exemption from administrative fines. This initiative reflects the UAE government’s commitment to providing legal pathways for individuals and companies to rectify their status and comply with labor laws.
The initiative, which started on September 1st and run until October 31st, is launched in partnership with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, operates under the slogan “Towards a Safer Society.” It focuses on individuals who committed violations before September 1, 2024.
The four services, which are available until the end of the grace period, include regularizing employment for workers with expired permits, cancelling expired work permits, facilitating job transfers for those seeking employment with new employers, and enabling individuals who wish to leave the country to do so without penalties. These services are designed to assist both workers and employers in meeting legal obligations while avoiding fines.
MoHRE highlighted that this exemption from administrative fines applies only to violations that occurred prior to the grace period. Once the grace period expires, violators will be subject to the full range of penalties, as stipulated by law.
MoHRE has encouraged all those eligible to take advantage of these services and ensure their compliance with labor laws before the grace period concludes.
This move is part of the UAE’s broader efforts to maintain a regulated labor market while offering support to both workers and employers to resolve their legal situations efficiently.
