Dubai: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has partnered with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) and the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation (AGF), along with Al Ghurair Investment. The partnership aims to enhance the training and upskilling of Emirati talent to meet labor market needs.
The collaboration will provide internationally recognized professional certificates to about 1,500 HCT students annually. This initiative will also create hundreds of job opportunities and apprenticeships for UAE citizens in the private sector.
Key figures at the signing included Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, and Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, Chairman of the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation. Other attendees were Ayesha Belharfia, Dr. Faisal Alayyan, Dr. Sonia Ben Jaafar, and Surhead Chaudhry.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar highlighted that this collaboration strengthens the cooperation between government and private sectors, creating job and training opportunities for UAE nationals. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair emphasized the importance of supporting Emiratisation in the private sector through employment and training.
Dr. Faisal Alayyan noted that the agreement aligns with HCT’s strategy to enhance professional capabilities in line with labor market needs. John Iossifidis, Group CEO of Al Ghurair Investment, stressed the importance of equipping young Emiratis with skills and experience to succeed.
Dr. Sonia Ben Jaafar expressed pride in supporting Emiratisation goals and highlighted the added value of UAE national job seekers in driving innovation and economic development.
The agreement outlines that MoHRE will support the Nomu program, which equips Emirati youth with skills for the digital economy. HCT will provide campus facilities for AGF activities and support the registration and completion of programs. Al Ghurair Investment will offer 50 apprenticeships and 35 job opportunities annually.
AGF will provide 1,000 to 1,500 professional certificates annually for HCT students, as well as mentorship, training, and support for innovation competitions. The Foundation will also support faculty training at HCT and other future cooperation aspects.
