Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has conducted a meeting with a number of recruitment agencies in the UAE to discuss the latest developments and ways to benefit from the Nafis platform.
The session was held to assist companies with 50 or more employees in meeting the emiratization targets of 2 percent for skilled jobs by the end of 2022.
The Emiratization Minister Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar remarked that the UAE labour market was “on the verge of fundamental change” as a result of a government drive to strengthen the local workforce in the private sector.

The labour market in the UAE is entering a new phase that focuses on the central role of national human capital within the private sector. We are on the verge of fundamental changes in the country’s labour market in line with increasing the participation of citizens and improving the competitiveness of the local business environment.
the minister stated.
“This comes is in light of the support provided by Nafis programme for Emirati cadres and private sector establishments, along with the Ministry’s follow-up to implement regulating legislation and resolutions aimed at increasing the participation of citizens in the private sector,” Mr. Al Awar added.
The meeting focused on the efforts aiming to implement the relevant resolution of the UAE Cabinet and avoid the penalties that will be imposed on companies that do not achieve the required targets, beginning in January 2023.

In the discussion, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the private sector and serving as a key partner in the progress of Emiratization. The meeting also discussed achieving the country’s goals to improve the business environment, and building an investment-friendly climate that encourages companies, investors, entrepreneurs, and talents from all over the world to work in the UAE, especially in strategic priority sectors.
