Abu Dhabi: The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) has celebrated the graduation of 32 executives from its Executive Program Accelerated (MEP-A).
This intensive six-day program, an expedited version of MBZUAI’s 16-week Executive Program, equips leaders with essential AI strategy and implementation skills to drive organizational transformation.
Participants, representing a range of regional and international organizations, gained unique insights into AI through access to MBZUAI’s world-class facilities and faculty, including renowned experts from MBZUAI, Columbia University, and UC Berkeley. This tailored program supports leaders in harnessing AI to advance innovation within their companies.
The inaugural MEP-A program equipped participants with essential tools to foster AI integration and innovation within their organizations, covering real-world AI applications, business and policy implications, and best practices in strategic implementation, ethics, and AI advancements.
The executives also joined a global community of senior leaders and AI experts, gaining insights into effective strategies and the latest technology trends.
To bridge learning with practical application, the cohort engaged in hands-on experiences and observed AI in action through site visits to ADNOC, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, the Digital Economy and Remote Work Authority, Dubai Future Foundation, and Dubai Future Labs.

This first MEP-A cohort included 32 executives from seven countries, with 26 participants from UAE’s public and private sectors, such as ADNOC, Mubadala, and DEWA. Six international members hailed from Saudi Arabia, the UK, the US, and the Philippines. Notably, 14 of the participants were women.
Professor Timothy Baldwin, Provost and Professor of Natural Language Processing at MBZUAI, said that, “MEP-A builds on the success of MEP by bringing some of the most important insights and learnings from the full course to a broader audience of global executives.
Baldwin added that, “Feedback from the MEP-A graduates has been excellent, telling us that they found the course extremely valuable, particularly the site visits, and that they are confident they can adapt the learnings to their own organizations. Importantly, their newfound knowledge will help them implement AI in a safe and ethical manner. The graduates’ approach to the program has also benefitted us at MBZUAI, offering new perspectives that will be fed back into future editions of MEP-A.”
The program showcased a distinguished line-up of AI experts, with instructors and speakers including MBZUAI President and Professor Eric Xing, UC Berkeley’s Professor Michael Jordan, and Columbia University’s Professor Sheena Iyengar. MBZUAI faculty members such as Professors Sami Haddadin, Elizabeth Churchill, and Ian Reid also contributed alongside other leading specialists.
Founded in 2019, MBZUAI is ranked among the world’s top 100 universities in computer science and places within the top 15 globally in AI, computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and robotics (CSRankings).
