Dubai: The Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) will host the first Global Conference on Economic Diversification on 31 October and 1 November 2024.
The conference brings together global experts to explore policy frameworks, thought leadership, and strategies for advancing economic diversification.
The annual conference aims to provide actionable insights and theoretical perspectives on economic diversification. It will feature high-level participation from Her Excellency Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, alongside representatives from leading universities, policy institutions, and global organizations, including UN agencies, the World Bank, IMF, and OECD.
The event will be held at MBRSG’s headquarters in the Dubai World Trade Center, based on the Economic Diversification Index (EDI) series- a critical dataset and annual report unveiled at the World Government Summit.
HE Dr. Ali bin Sebaa Al Marri, Executive President of MBRSG, emphasized that, “Economic diversification has been central to the UAE’s strategic vision, positioning the nation as a regional and global leader. This conference aligns with our mission to empower future leaders by equipping them with the knowledge to navigate emerging challenges. The Global Conference on Economic Diversification will provide a platform for international experts to exchange ideas and develop a roadmap for sustainable diversification.”

The two-day event will feature panel discussions, roundtables, and workshops focusing on key findings from the EDI and broader topics linked to economic transformation. Sessions will address themes such as:
