Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of the Presidential Court, attended the opening ceremony of the 17th Middle East Rail 2023 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
The opening ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including Mr. Jasem Mohamed AlBudaiwi, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Mr. Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, senior UAE officials, transportation ministers, as well as chairpersons and CEOs of prominent railway companies. Additionally, representatives from key figures and manufacturing companies within the transportation industry were also in attendance.
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed emphasized the UAE leadership’s strong commitment to the development of the transport sector and railway industry. The expansion of the country’s rail network is a priority in order to drive overall development and capitalize on the crucial role that railways play in bolstering the economy, creating investment opportunities, and strengthening human and commercial connections.

Sheikh Mansour applauded the vision of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail, for spearheading the strategic projects of Etihad Rail. These initiatives align with the UAE’s aspirations to become a global leader in the transportation and shipping sectors. They aim to enhance inter-city transportation and forge strategic partnerships with major players in the railway industry.
Furthermore, Sheikh Mansour had the opportunity to watch a documentary showcasing the remarkable achievements of Etihad Rail. This presentation highlighted the significant milestones and contributions made by the organization towards advancing the transportation sector in the UAE.
