Dubai: Lieutenant Nouf Al Baloushi, from Dubai Police’s Unmanned Aerial Systems Center (UASC), has made history as the first Emirati to graduate from the UK Ministry of Defense’s Defense Academy.
Nouf earned a Master’s degree in Engineering Design and Simulation of Defense Systems from Cranfield University.
In addition, Nouf is the first graduate in this field from the UAE’s police and security sector.
The specialized Postgraduate Program equips officers with expertise in simulating defense systems, conducting virtual training scenarios, and managing complex defense projects.
It also focuses on designing Virtual Military environments and assessing system performance in real-world scenarios, enhancing technical, military, and security capabilities.
Lt. Nouf serves in the Design and Implementation Section of UASC at Dubai Police’s General Department of Operations and also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Khalifa University.
Al Baloushi also plays a key role in Dubai Police’s Drone Network Development Project, which integrates AI and drone technology to boost operational efficiency and community protection.
Lt. Nouf said that, “It is an honor to be the first Emirati and police officer to complete this prestigious program, this achievement reflects the continuous support of our wise leadership and Dubai Police in developing its personnel.”
Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs, commended the leadership of His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, for prioritizing specialized education.
Al Ghaithi remarked that, “Advanced training and education strengthen our police force’s ability to address security challenges with agility and efficiency.
Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Director of the General Department of Operations, emphasized Dubai Police’s commitment to building technical and operational expertise.
Brigadier Faris stated that Lt. Nouf’s skills in Defense design and simulation are key to improving readiness and decision-making under pressure.
Lt. Nouf’s fascination with aviation began at age 13 during a visit to the Dubai Airshow. Her journey from studying Aerospace Engineering at Khalifa University to becoming a key contributor to Dubai Police’s technological advancements is a testament to her passion and dedication.
Lt. Nouf concluded that, “I thank Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Dubai Police leadership, and everyone who supported me. I am committed to driving progress within Dubai Police and serving our society.”
