Al Dhafra: Liwa Sports Club has announced its intention to submit an entry to the Guinness World Records after the success of the Liwa International Festival, which concluded on 4th January at the Moreeb Dune.
The club aims to register Liwa Caravan Parks as the largest serviced caravan parking area globally.
The caravan parks, which began operations in 2018, originally accommodated 144 caravans. Following continued development, the capacity grew to 296 caravans in 2019 and 448 in 2021 with the addition of essential services and an electronic booking system.
In 2022, the capacity rose to 592 caravans, and 2023 marked a significant expansion, including a paved road, sports fields, and public facilities, increasing the capacity to 840 caravans.
In 2024, the club focused on enhancing the visitor experience by introducing a unified electronic booking system, eco-friendly golf carts, and a quiet, safe environment for all community members.
The Liwa Desert has also introduced another remarkable landmark—the Liwa Sign, which has gained recognition as the world’s largest sign by the Guinness Book of Records in 2024.
The Hollywood-style sign stands atop a small mountain on a plateau, making it visible from all directions and adding a unique touch to the desert landscape, further enhancing the area’s appeal to visitors.
These efforts aim to make Liwa Caravan Parks a leading global destination for caravanning and set a benchmark for recreational facilities dedicated to caravans
