Al Dhafra: The inaugural Freestyle Electronic Showdown, part of the Liwa International Festival 2025, has wrapped up last night, leaving a lasting impression with thrilling competitions and a vibrant turnout from electronic gaming enthusiasts.
Held at the Liwa Walk, the event featured two age groups. In the 14-17 category, Yemen’s Naif Saud Al-Shabbabi emerged as the winner, showcasing exceptional skills. Emirati competitors Dhiab Abdullah Al-Hammadi and Zayed Ahmed secured second and third places, respectively.
The 8-13 age category saw Emirati players conquer the podium. Hamdan Saleh Al-Kindi took first place, with Saeed Abdullah Al-Balushi and Mohammed Abdulrahim Al-Hammadi finishing in second and third positions, respectively.

Speaking on the event’s success, Hamdan Al-Mazrouei, General Manager of the Liwa Sports Club, expressed pride in the tournament’s achievements. Hamdan Al-Mazrouei stated that, “We are proud to be part of this success, reflecting the growing interest in electronic sports. This tournament has added a new measurement to the Liwa International Festival, showcasing an exceptional level of competitiveness among the youth. We are dedicated to further developing this event in future editions to serve as a creative platform for all talents.”
The festival resumes with the highly anticipated Tel Moreeb Hill Climb, set to take place on Friday. The second day of competition will feature the 8-Cylinder Turbo and 6-Cylinder Gas categories, with a focus on thrilling motorsport action.
