Dubai: Astronomy enthusiasts are invited to witness one of nature’s most spectacular celestial events, the Leonids Meteor Shower 2025, taking place on November 17, from 10:00 pm to 2:00 am at Al Qudra Desert, Dubai.
Organized by the Al Thuraya Astronomy Center, the event promises an enchanting night under the stars, complete with educational talks, sky mapping, and live telescope observations.
The Leonids, active every November, will peak this year with up to 15 meteors per hour streaking across the dark, moonless sky. Named after the constellation Leo, the shower occurs as Earth passes through debris left behind by Comet Tempel-Tuttle, which orbits the Sun every 33 years.
