Sharjah: As the 13th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF 2024) approaches, the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) is launching five pre-forum training programmes to enhance the communication skills of students and professionals. Developed with national and international partners, these programmes aim to equip participants with advanced skills and practical knowledge.
Under the theme ‘Agile Governments… Innovative Communication,’ IGCF 2024 will set new standards in government communication. The pre-forum training, running from 26th August to 5th September, covers essential topics such as AI, the Metaverse, job market skills, media project development, and content creation.
The COMMS programme, from 26th to 29th August at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, includes workshops on topics like ‘How to Start Your Media Project’ by Dr. Sheren Mousa, ‘Podcast Production for Government Communication Platforms’ by Dr. Amr Abdelhamid, and ‘Mobile Journalism’ by Dr. Rahima Aissani. Dr. Mohamed Abdulzaher will lead a session on ‘Advanced Technology (AI and Metaverse) and Dynamic Human Skills for the Arab Labour Market 2025.’
At Expo Centre Sharjah, training sessions will focus on future communication skills. One key programme, ‘Influencer Dynamics: Mastering Public Communication in the Digital Age,’ organised with Forbes Middle East and GovCampus, will run from 3rd to 5th September, offering 24 sessions on influencer strategies and digital influence.
The ‘Universities Challenge,’ held from 3rd to 5th September with the United Arab Emirates University, will let students present innovative ideas in digital content creation. The AI Skills Camp, organised with the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF), will take place from 2nd to 4th September, focusing on AI in government communication.
Finally, SGMB’s Training Department will host a workshop on ‘Design Thinking and Innovation’ from 2nd to 3rd September, led by Ahmed Shahrouj, an expert in creativity and innovation.
