Dubai: The Hatta Winter initiative was launched under the directives and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
The campaign aims to promote Hatta as a top winter destination, offering visitors a blend of cultural, entertainment, and outdoor experiences.
The initiative is managed by the Supreme Committee to Oversee the Development of Hatta, with implementation by Brand Dubai as part of the #DubaiDestinations campaign.
It features five key festivals;
- Hatta Winter Festival at Leem Lake, showcasing live entertainment, workshops, and community events.
- Hatta Cultural Nights, celebrating the region’s heritage and local talent.
- Hatta Honey Festival, supporting Emirati beekeepers and the honey industry.
- Hatta Agricultural Festival, empowering local farmers and promoting sustainable agriculture.
- Hatta x DSF, offering adventure activities like mountain biking, zip-lining, kayaking, and scenic light shows.
Collaboration with key entities, including the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Culture, Dubai Sports Council, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, has led to significant developments.
Enhancements include interconnected hiking trails, cycling tracks, and improved transport facilities, such as 29 daily “Hop On Hop Off” bus trips and over 1,100 parking spaces.
At the launch of Hatta Winter, Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized the initiative’s alignment with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan to position Hatta as a premier tourist destination.
Al Marri highlighted Hatta’s stunning landscapes, cultural heritage, and diverse activities, making it ideal for families, adventurers, and culture enthusiasts.
Al Marri praised the collaboration with the Supreme Committee and partners, affirming the campaign’s role in promoting sustainable tourism, supporting local communities, and enhancing Hatta’s global appeal.
This year’s initiative builds on the success of its previous edition, which attracted over 500,000 visitors in two weeks. Organizers have extended the event to nearly 40 days, spotlighting Hatta’s rich culture, local entrepreneurship, and unique landscapes.
The program also includes interactive workshops, outdoor sports events, fireworks displays, and exclusive artisanal experiences to captivate families, adventurers, and culture enthusiasts alike.
