Abu Dhabi: H2O Hospitality (H2O), a South Korean digital innovation company, has established its regional headquarters in Abu Dhabi in association with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO).
H2O, a company in the lodging and entertainment industry, received a wide range of growth-enabling support from ADIO, including financial incentives, setup assistance, links to the Abu Dhabi ecosystem, and chances for international commerce.
The action demonstrates the robust economic collaboration between Abu Dhabi and South Korea, which has shifted its emphasis to innovation and technology. The Bloomberg Innovation Index has named South Korea the most innovative country six times in the last ten years. According to the International Institute for Management Development’s (IMD) 2023 IMD Smart City Index, Abu Dhabi is also the most intelligent city in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) area.
Badr Al-Olama, Acting Director General of ADIO, remarked that, “Both Abu Dhabi and South Korea are globally known for their approach to innovation, sharing similar visions for digital transformation, and are natural partners to navigate the tech-enabled future.”
“At the same time, Abu Dhabi has become renowned for its diverse investment climate, enabling ecosystem and global status as a hub for digitalization, making it the perfect choice for innovative companies like H2O Hospitality to realise their growth ambitions. At ADIO, we remain focussed on partnerships that create real-world impact, and we’re here to welcome the world’s most innovative companies to join our vibrant economy,” Al-Olama added.
H2O will accelerate its next stage of global expansion with its new headquarters in Abu Dhabi’s Global Market (ADGM), where it aims to replicate its success in Asia and seize opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) hospitality market. The passenger traffic is predicted to fully recover in 2024, reaching a projected 400 million travelers, and the area tourism market is anticipated to continue rising.
