Abu Dhabi: The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) is calling on government and private sector employers to participate in awareness workshops designed to clarify the UAE’s federal pension laws, specifically Law No. 7 of 1999 and Law No. 57 of 2023.
Since the beginning of 2024, the GPSSA has conducted 37 workshops, reaching over 1,100 insured individuals. These sessions cover various aspects of the pension laws, providing valuable insights into how these regulations affect both employers and employees.
The GPSSA offers two types of workshops. The first focuses on the legal framework of the pension laws, while the second addresses the electronic services associated with those laws. Employers have the option to host these workshops on their premises, offering their employees essential knowledge on topics like insurance contributions, pension eligibility, and end-of-service benefits.
Participants will also learn about the process of paying contributions, deadlines, and the handling of leave and secondment periods. Additionally, the workshops explain how to add and purchase service periods, and how to merge pensions and salaries. A Q&A session with GPSSA experts is included to address any specific questions.
Employers interested in hosting a workshop can apply through the GPSSA website, where they can also find service guides, view service cards, and watch instructional videos. Once a request is made, the employer will receive confirmation via email and SMS, and a GPSSA specialist will coordinate the workshop delivery, which is provided free of charge.
These workshops are a key initiative by the GPSSA to ensure that all employers and employees are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities under the UAE’s pension laws.
