Dubai: Bolt, a leading global ride-hailing platform operating in over 600 cities across 50 countries, has officially launched its services in the UAE.
The launch aligns with the nation’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations, symbolizing a commitment to progress, unity, and providing world-class services to residents and visitors.
By offering premium and sustainable transportation solutions, the platform reinforces Dubai’s ambition to transition 80 percent of taxi trips to e-hailing in the coming years.
Through the Bolt app, users can conveniently book rides, track drivers, and make payments, enhancing the customer experience.
Mansoor Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, stated that, “Since the announcement of Bolt’s arrival in October, we are thrilled to see it come to fruition. With Dubai’s growing influx of visitors, the demand for diverse transportation options has surged. Bolt’s presence offers a valuable addition, ensuring mobility becomes more accessible and integrated with taxis, cars, and micro mobility solutions.”
Alfalasi revealed that the initial fleet comprises limousines from reputed fleet partners, including Dubai Taxi Company vehicles, catering to both affordable and luxury segments.
Future plans include integrating taxi services into the Bolt app and expanding to other emirates. Additionally, Bolt aims to introduce services like e-scooters, delivery, and car rentals, creating a comprehensive mobility ecosystem.
Eduard Suchánek, Regional Manager for the Middle East & North Africa at Bolt, highlighted that, “Introducing Bolt in the UAE on the historic occasion of Eid Al Etihad reflects our dedication to the country’s vision for innovation. Dubai’s strategic location and growing demand make it a prime destination for expansion, complementing our successful operations in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.”
With plans to grow its services across the region, Bolt is set to become a key player in shaping the future of transportation in the UAE.
