Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has been announced as the winner of the Outstanding Community Initiative category at the 2022 Global Business Excellence Awards for its “Auwn Community Program.”
Ms. Mouza Suhail Al Muhairi, Deputy DG for Regulatory and Administrative Affairs at ADAFSA, commented that the Auwn CSR Program is one of the strategic initiatives undertaken by ADAFSA to support its responsibilities towards the local community.
Since its founding a few years ago, it has delivered 130 community events that have helped more than 114 families and supported SMEs working in the agricultural sector and community and environmental development efforts. One of the first government organisations in Abu Dhabi to start a community project was ADAFSA, which made it an example for others to follow.
Al Muhairi stated.
Ms. Al Muhairi stressed that ADAFSA launched the program to inspire its employees to contribute to the growth of the local community, support the most vulnerable groups in society, improve the quality of life, and promote volunteer work.
The program assisted in accomplishing ADAFSA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals by implementing several community initiatives. These include blood donation drives, supporting cancer patients, environmental development initiatives, student graduation projects, and SMEs engaged in the agricultural industry in Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, it motivates staff members of ADAFSA to volunteer and participate in charitable and CSR activities.
The Chairman of the Jury commented on ADAFSA’s win in the Outstanding Community Initiative category, remarking that “the Global Business Excellence Awards pride themselves on having a large panel of independent expert judges who select winners according to strict criteria for each category and sector, focusing on financial results, innovation, customer, employee, investor, and community benefits.”
“We congratulate the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority on this achievement, which demonstrates the important role it plays in supporting the local community and encouraging its employees to volunteer to support social and environmental projects, putting it among the leading authorities in this field,” the chairman added.
