Abu Dhabi: The Federal Youth Authority (FYA) has launched the “National Youth Agenda 2031,” a visionary initiative aimed at positioning Emirati youth as leading role models locally and globally.
The agenda emphasizes the youth’s pivotal role in economic and social development, by empowering and supporting young talents in alignment with the aspirations of the nation’s leadership and the broader vision for a brighter future.
The launch event was attended by numerous officials across public and private sectors, as well as leaders from local, ministerial, and institutional youth councils, and representatives from strategic partner organizations.
Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, highlighted the importance of leadership’s vision in motivating youth to excel in various development fields. Al Neyadi emphasized that youth are key partners in shaping the nation’s present and future, with a lot of opportunities and resources provided to enhance their skills, foster creativity, and ensure active participation in initiatives that boost the UAE’s global competitiveness.
Dr. Al Neyadi stated that the launch of the ‘National Youth Agenda 2031,’ with its comprehensive initiatives, programs, and projects, marks a significant strategic step towards creating a supportive environment for youth development.
The National Youth Agenda 2031 has five strategic goals for Emirati youth. They should be capable to:
- Be a major contributor to national economic growth.
- Contribute effectively to community engagement while upholding Emirati values and principles.
- Become global role models driving positive change.
- Mastering of advanced technologies and future skills.
- Enjoy high standards of health and quality of life.
Key targets of the Agenda include:
- Qualifying over 100 young Emiratis to represent the UAE in global organizations and forums.
- Ensuring 100 percent suitable career pathways for youth in the labor market.
- Positioning the UAE among the top 10 countries globally in terms of youth quality of life.
- Enhancing national consciousness and pride in Emirati identity.
- Making the UAE the most accessible country for youth to obtain basic services.
- Doubling the number of youth projects in emerging and future sectors.
- Doubling the number of young Emiratis with academic and vocational qualifications and preparing them with future skills and labor market demands.
- The “National Youth Agenda 2031” aims to create a bright and dynamic future for Emirati youth, fostering their development and ensuring their significant contribution to the nation’s progress.
