Fujairah: Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, the Emirate is set to host the 2024 Fujairah Equestrian Championships this December. The event will feature more than 600 horses competing in a series of prestigious equestrian tournaments, underscoring the Emirate’s growing prominence in the international equestrian arena.
The championships will kick off with the 9th Fujairah International Arabian Horse Championship, scheduled from 19th to 21st December, followed by the second Fujairah Dressage Championship on 22nd December. The series will conclude with the second Fujairah Jumping Championship, a CSI3-rated competition, from 27th to 29th December. All events will be held at the iconic Fujairah Fort Arena.
Organized by the Higher Committee of Fujairah Equestrian Championships, the event seeks to diversify equestrian activities in the Emirate. While the Arabian Horse Championship will be supervised by the Emirates Horse Society (EHS), the Dressage and Jumping Championships will fall under the guidance of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF) and the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), respectively.
Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi, Chairman of the Higher Committee, emphasized the event’s significance in elevating Fujairah’s equestrian profile. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi stated that, “The Fujairah Equestrian Championships aim to celebrate and keep the cultural heritage of equestrianism, fostering a deep appreciation for this legacy among future generations.”
The Arabian Horse Championship will showcase 300 horses across 18 rounds in six categories, while the Jumping Championship will feature nine classes over three days, culminating in the Grand Prix on the final day. Ahmed Hamdan Al Zeyoudi stated that, “Our goal is to create a platform for riders to demonstrate their mastery of equestrian techniques and showcase their exceptional skills.”
Entries for the Fujairah Dressage Championship can be submitted via the UAEERF portal, while participants for the Jumping Championship can register through FEI (entry.fei.org) or their respective national federations. Registration for the Jumping Championship will remain open until 19th December.
The event also welcomes equestrian enthusiasts with free entry to the public grandstand, offering a chance to witness world-class equestrian sports in Fujairah. The Fujairah Equestrian Championships underscore the Emirate’s dedication to promoting fairness, safety, and enjoyment in equestrian sports, further firming its reputation on the international equestrian map.
