Dubai: The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, launched the “Frij Refrigerator” initiative to provide cold drinks to workers at construction sites and factories during the summer.
The initiative has benefited around 8,000 workers, reflecting GDRFA’s commitment to improving laborers’ working and living conditions, which enhances productivity and supports sustainable development. It also aims to highlight the importance of a suitable work environment and the vital role workers play in society.
Major General Obaid Bin Suroor, Assistant Director-General of GDRFA and Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs, emphasized the importance of recognizing workers’ essential role in Dubai’s development and noted that the “Frij Refrigerator” initiative demonstrates GDRFA’s commitment to improving work conditions.
Major General Dr. Ali Bin Ajif Al Zaabi, Assistant Director-General of GDRFA, stated that enhancing labor relations and supporting workers positively impacts productivity and strengthens Dubai’s position as a leading global city.
