Dubai: The renowned sportscar rally Gumball 3000 pleased spectators at Expo City Dubai with a pit stop at Al Wasl Plaza. The annual celebrity race transports thousands of fast cars around the world.
A line-up of celebrity drivers and more than 100 elite high-performance cars, including Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and a Bugatti Divo, set off from Burj Park on November 13, traversing dramatic sea and desert-scapes across the UAE and Oman, before purring through Al Wasl Avenue and arriving at the magnificent Al Wasl Plaza, for an electrifying projection show that mesmerised drivers and audience alike.
Highlights of the evening had a “meet and greet” with drivers including Moroccan-American artist Mr. French Montana, Mr. Hanan Mazouzi Sobati, founder of the Arabian Gazelles, the first all-women supercar owner’s club in Dubai, and British YouTuber Mr. Yung Filly.

They will join in the festivities for the Formula 1 season finale on November 20th at Yas Marina Circuit, as the epic and eclectic journey comes to an end.
The Gumball rally was envisioned in May 1999 when Mr. Cooper invited some influential friends on a “road trip” through Europe, hosting events that attracted celebrities like Ms. Kate Moss, Mr. Jamiroquai, Ms. Kylie Minogue, Mr. Tony Hawk, and Mr. Johnny Knoxville.
It quickly became a social elite must-do on the annual calendar according to the social columns at the time. Gumball 3000 eventually developed into a well-known brand and global entertainment corporation, and it is now a group of companies that includes an apparel brand and a recognised charity.
