With just two weeks left for the most awaited Expo 2020 Dubai to open its doors for the public, the organizers of the event have released a few pictures to give a sneak peek of the breath-taking inaugural ceremony.
The world’s greatest show will feature hundreds of performers in an event that will be broadcasted live globally. The 90-minute performance on Thursday, September 30, will set the stage for the six-month world fair.
Ms. Amna Abulhoul, Executive Creative Director, Events and Entertainment, Expo 2020 Dubai, described the opening ceremony as a “breath-taking experience”.
“It is not something that I can explain through words. It will trigger something inside you, something that will make you feel that you are ready to change the world,” she added.
The costumes and projections of the event will reflect the varied nature and landscapes of the UAE, with the ceremony personifying the Expo’s theme and purpose to connect minds and create the future. The event includes more than 1,000 performers and technical crew from the UAE and around the world.
Mr. Mounir Cherkaoui, a performer and choreographer from Morocco, has described the event as a “piece of art”.
“I met a lot of people at Expo and that’s what makes me happy. I meet different nationalities, different knowledge, different mentalities…I can’t tell you about the show, it’s a secret, but I can tell you that it’s a piece of art. I’m so happy to dance and to be a part of this project,” he added.
Expo 2020 Dubai is being described as the ‘largest event ever in the Arab world’, spread over 182 days of celebration in the year of the country’s Golden Jubilee.
