Abu Dhabi: The “Emirati Women and Future-Making” conference will start next Wednesday, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
Organised by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence as part of Emirati Women’s Day celebrations, the conference will highlight the significant contributions of women in various fields across Emirati society.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, will open the event, with Alia Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, participating.
The event will feature two main sessions. The first, “Emirati Women and Modern Technological Achievements,” will discuss women’s roles in shaping the UAE’s future, with insights from Dr. Bushra Al Blooshi, Director of the Cybersecurity Governance Risk Management Department at the Dubai Electronic Security Centre; Najla Al Midfa, CEO of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre; and Omniyat Al Hajeri, Executive Director of Community Health at AD Public Health Centre.
The second session, “The Role of Emirati Women in Enhancing Social Cohesion through the Values of Tolerance and Coexistence,” will include Layla Al Hayas, Executive Director of the Community Development Sector at the Department of Community Development, Abu Dhabi; Fatima Al Kaabi, Deputy Chairperson of the NHRI; and Hana Al Rostamani, CEO of First Abu Dhabi Bank.
The conference will also honour influential women in the UAE, with Sheikh Nahyan presenting awards to Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions; Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the GWU, and others.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasised the pivotal role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in the success of the conference and in advancing women’s empowerment in the UAE. He noted her continuous support and global recognition for promoting women’s rights and capabilities.
