Dubai: Emirates has received its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft, a significant milestone in the airline’s fleet expansion strategy.
This delivery underscores the enduring partnership between Emirates and Airbus, founded on innovation, operational excellence, and efficiency. The A350 will bolster Emirates’ medium- and long-haul operations, extending its reach beyond its current network.
As part of its broader growth plan, Emirates has ordered 65 A350-900s to support Dubai’s Economic Agenda, which aims to add 400 cities to the emirate’s foreign trade map over the next decade.
The aircraft will also play a key role in establishing the new Dubai World Central (DWC) mega hub, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global aviation hub.
The Emirates A350-900 will offer three cabin classes, accommodating 312 passengers: 32 in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 259 in economy class.
Emirates will also be the first airline in the Middle East to introduce Airbus’ HBCplus satcom connectivity solution, providing passengers with seamless, high-speed global internet access.
The A350-900 is one of the most advanced and efficient widebody aircraft, designed for long-range operations in the 300-410 seat category.
Its cutting-edge technologies, advanced aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and new-generation engines deliver a 25% reduction in fuel consumption, operating costs, and CO₂ emissions compared to previous-generation aircraft.
Additionally, the Airspace cabin offers an exceptionally quiet and comfortable experience, with a 50% noise footprint reduction.
The A350 is also capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), aligning with Airbus’ goal to make its aircraft 100% SAF-compatible by 2030.
By the end of October 2024, the A350 Family had secured over 1,340 firm orders from 60 customers worldwide, further cementing its position as a leader in modern aviation technology.
