Dubai: Emirates has confirmed a five-year renewal of its partnership with Tennis Australia, solidifying its role as the Official Airline of the Australian Open until 2029.
The airline has marked its decade-long relationship with the event this year, underscoring its commitment to Australia and local sports.
Starting in 2025, the collaboration will go beyond the Open, introducing a community-driven initiative supported by Emirates’ ‘Force for Good’ program. The airline will invest $2.25 million to provide tennis opportunities for disadvantaged children in key Australian cities.
The program will focus on young people from underprivileged backgrounds, offering them free tennis programs that promote physical and mental wellbeing while developing life skills such as resilience and teamwork.
Over the next five years, the program will offer free tennis sessions, creating a structured and supportive setting where young participants can enhance their sports abilities while also building vital life skills like resilience, teamwork, and social connections.
Through this partnership, Emirates and the ATF seek to remove obstacles and provide these youth with valuable resources and opportunities to succeed.
Emirates’ Divisional Vice President for Australasia, Barry Brown, highlighted the airline’s continued commitment to Australia with the renewal of its partnership with Tennis Australia for another five years.
This follows nearly three decades of service since Emirates’ first flight to Melbourne. And also emphasized the airline’s extended focus on community support through the ‘Force for Good’ program, aimed at providing tennis opportunities and fostering future tennis talent.
Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley expressed excitement about continuing the long-term partnership with Emirates, noting the significant role the airline plays in connecting players, fans, and events globally.
Vicki Reid, Executive Director of the Australian Tennis Foundation, also expressed enthusiasm for the multi-year partnership, which will help support and uplift thousands of underprivileged young people through tennis.
Emirates’ renewed commitment aligns with its long-standing presence in Australia, where it has been operating for nearly 30 years, and supports its broader global tennis sponsorship, which includes all four Grand Slams.
Additionally, Emirates continues to enhance the Australian Open experience through various hospitality and sponsorship initiatives, ensuring a memorable event for fans and players alike.
