Riyadh: Reiterating its commitment and active participation in the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA), UAE’s official news agency, Emirates News Agency is currently taking part in FANA’s 48th General Assembly held in Riyadh.
The two-day event will see Board Chairmen, Editors-in-Chief and Directors of FANA member agencies discussing matters pertaining to Arab Media Landscape.
Mr. Ahmed Al Hammadi, WAM’s Executive Director of the Support Services Sector is heading the UAE delegation at the conference.
At the Assembly hosted by Saudi Arabia’s official news agency, Saudi Press Agency or SPA, Mr. Al Hammadi emphasized on WAM’s keenness to enhance collaboration between FANA members and drive the development of Arab media content to achieve their shared goals.
The WAM Official further elaborated that better collaborations and development of Arab media content remains critical during current events around the world, which necessitate enhancing media awareness and aligning efforts in facing current and future challenges through credible media sources capable of quashing rumours and false news and showcasing Arab achievements globally.
Saudi Press Agency President, Mr. Fahd bin Hassan Al Aqran was chosen as the FANA President on the first day of the conference.
AGENDA OF THE CONFERENCE
Participants in the conference will deliberate on the prospects of boosting the media performance of FANA member agencies and enhancing their presence on the global media scene, as well as review the Federation’s activities in 2021 and its 2022 plans.
