Dubai: Emirates Airline has resumed its services to Edinburgh, Scotland, marking its first arrival in the city since 2020. The airline’s Boeing 777 was greeted with a ceremonial welcome by the prominent Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
With this launch, Edinburgh becomes Emirates’ eighth destination in the UK. The new daily service completes the existing daily A380 flights to Glasgow, offering travelers a total of 14 weekly flights between the UAE and Scotland.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the significance of the UK market for the airline. Adnan Kazim explained that, “We’re proud to reinstate our impression in Scotland – a country that’s adored by visitors from around the world.” Kazim noted that Scottish passengers can predict an elevated travel experience onboard the Boeing 777, with plans for the arrival of the positively anticipated A350 in the near future.
In addition to passenger services, Kazim stressed the ample cargo capacity of the Boeing 777, which will improve transport solutions for Scottish businesses. Kazim stated that, “This will allow industries across Scotland to access global markets more quickly, meeting growing demand.”
Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, greeted the new service, stating that, “Direct connectivity to Dubai is something that will be accommodated by both business and leisure passengers, while the onward relations through the vast Emirates network also open up an oversupply of travel opportunities.”
