Abu Dhabi: The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) has held the second stakeholders’ workshop to present and discuss the progress and key points of the Abu Dhabi Air Quality Modelling Framework project.
Held at EAD’s headquarters, the workshop demonstrated the noteworthy advancements EAD and its collaborators have achieved in creating and executing the Abu Dhabi Air Quality Modeling Framework in the last 12 months.
The Agency highlighted its plan and project progress on operational modeling studies, meteorology, forecasting, and the usage of data products generated from the Modeling Framework project in addition to significant outcomes and regional modeling data generated during the project’s first year.
In keeping with the 2030 National Air Quality Agenda and the Emirate’s larger strategic objectives, the workshop also looked at how each partner organization’s actions can be in line with the agendas and how the project’s advancement can contribute to these overarching aims.
One important result of the project was to fortify the bonds between the various parties involved and establish a forum for candid discussion, information exchange, and coordinated efforts to enhance Abu Dhabi’s air quality.
The project’s executive director for environmental quality, Faisal Al Hammadi of EAD, expressed his happiness at organizing the second workshop and emphasized the important advancements made as well as the partners’ cooperation in enhancing air quality.
The purpose of the gathering was to solicit input from interested parties and help shape the composition of a future multi-stakeholder Air Quality Advisory Group. Once formed, the group’s main goal will be to offer professional advice on a variety of subjects, such as how well-suited the current plans, laws, and regulations are to achieving air quality goals.
