Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai International Academic City are preparing to host thousands of students from across the globe as the 2024-25 academic year begins in the UAE. A diverse array of forward-thinking programs has been introduced to equip today’s talent with the skills needed for future demands.
Green Hydrogen: Pioneering Sustainable Energy Solutions
Dubai’s universities are launching advanced courses focused on green hydrogen, aiming to push the boundaries of sustainable energy. These programs will cover the full spectrum of green hydrogen technology, including production, storage, and application, supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and shift towards renewable energy.
Sports Performance: Training the Next Generation of Athletes
In a bid to revolutionize sports science, Dubai’s educational institutions are introducing cutting-edge sports performance courses. These will explore the latest in training techniques, nutrition, and recovery strategies, preparing students to excel in competitive sports and contribute to advancements in athletic performance.
Fintech: Navigating the Future of Financial Technology
The new fintech courses are set to address the rapid evolution in financial technologies. Covering areas such as blockchain, digital currencies, and cybersecurity, these programs aim to equip students with the skills needed to thrive in the dynamic world of finance and innovation.
Marwan Abdulaziz Janahi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Knowledge Park and Dubai International Academic City, at TECOM Group PJSC said that, “As we stand at the precipice of a new era defined by complexity and rapid transformation, education is the pillar upon which we must build our future.”
In the 2024-25 academic year, TECOM Group’s Education Cluster will introduce several new programs. At Dubai Knowledge Park, the University of Wollongong Dubai will offer short executive courses in green hydrogen technology and launch the Blockchain Innovation and Analytics Lab to advance research and industry partnerships in blockchain.
Middlesex University Dubai, based at Dubai International Academic City, will debut its MDX Dubai MBA (Daytime Delivery) program, providing flexible learning with specializations in finance, innovation, and healthcare management. Additionally, the university will introduce new MSc programs in Sports Performance Technology, Financial Technology, and Legal Technology, addressing key areas such as performance metrics, fintech advancements, and tech-focused legal careers.
