Dubai: The countdown has begun for the return of the Dubai T100, taking place from November 13–16, with just 100 days to go until the world’s fastest-growing triathlon event hits the city.
Marking the milestone, one of the UAE’s most respected endurance athletes, Ghani Souleymane, is embarking on a monumental Guinness World Record attempt, completing 100 consecutive 100km triathlons in 100 days, ending with his final race on the Dubai T100 start line on November 16.
Starting on August 8, at Kite Beach, Souleymane will take on the official T100 format each day, a 2km swim, 80km cycle, and 18km run, amounting to a staggering 10,000km in total.
The challenge also carries a humanitarian purpose, aiming to raise funds for children affected by conflict. No stranger to extreme feats, Souleymane previously completed 30 ultramarathons in 30 days in 2020 and 30 Ironmans in 30 days in 2023.

“This challenge is about more than sport. It’s about showing what’s possible when you give everything and using that effort to help children who’ve lost so much,” Souleymane said.
The Dubai T100, backed by the Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) and part of the global T100 Triathlon World Tour, has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the premier multisport weekends, combining elite-level racing with mass participation events in a festival atmosphere against Dubai’s iconic skyline.
It is also part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), encouraging residents to engage in 30 minutes of activity every day for 30 days.

The T100’s growth received a further boost last week with the PTO’s announcement of a Series C funding round, led by SURJ Sports Investment alongside Sir Michael Moritz, Cordillera, and Verance Capital. This investment will fuel the sport’s global expansion and bring innovation to race formats such as the Music Run and Corporate Relay, with the MENA region playing a pivotal role.
PTO CEO Sam Renouf stated that, “As we scale globally, we’re more committed than ever to making triathlon accessible to everyone. Ghani’s 100 x 100km challenge captures everything the T100 is about, elite sport that inspires community and purpose.”
Dubai serves as the penultimate stop on the T100 World Tour before the Qatar T100 World Championship Final in December, attracting the world’s best triathletes to one of the fastest courses on the calendar, centered around Meydan Racecourse.
Among the returning stars is Swiss Olympic silver medalist Julie Derron, current leader of the women’s T100 Race to Qatar, who finished second in Dubai last year. “Last year’s Dubai T100 was unforgettable, fast, challenging, and world-class. The atmosphere, the fans, and the energy in Dubai make it one of the best events of the season. I can’t wait to be back,” Derron remarked.
With registration now open and entries filling quickly, organizers say the 100-day mark is the perfect time for participants, from first-timers to elite champions, to secure their place in one of the most exciting endurance festivals on the global calendar.
