Dubai: Over 5,000 participants have gathered at Hatta Dam for the third edition of Dubai Stand Up Paddle 2025, presented by RTA, marking one of the largest community fitness events under the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC).
Spanning two days, the event has brought together paddlers, kayakers, and families to embrace outdoor fitness amid the breathtaking Hajar Mountains.
From sunrise to sunset, participants have taken to the water, embodying the DFC spirit of ‘Find Your Challenge.’ The new two-day format has encouraged visitors to extend their stay, combining their paddling sessions with hiking, dining, and exploring Hatta’s natural beauty. This year’s edition has transformed into a full weekend retreat blending wellness, recreation, and community.

The event has included free SUP training sessions catering to all skill levels, along with safety briefings and provided equipment such as boards, paddles, and life jackets. Participants have also enjoyed complimentary kayaking, while evening yoga sessions on the water have offered moments of mindfulness as the sun set behind the mountains.
Families have been treated to a lively entertainment zone featuring a giant inflatable duck, bouncy castle, face painting, and free popcorn, ensuring fun for all ages. F&B vendors have provided refreshments and ice lollies, enhancing the event’s festive and inclusive atmosphere.
His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, stated that, “The response to Dubai Stand Up Paddle, presented by RTA, has been phenomenal. Expanding to two days was the right decision, allowing even more people to experience this unique combination of fitness, nature, and community.”

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), noted that, “The expanded format allowed us to welcome more people to this experience, and the enthusiasm we witnessed reinforces that outdoor fitness activations like this are essential to building healthier, more connected communities.”
As DFC 2025 continues, upcoming flagship events include the Dubai Run, presented by Mai Dubai, on 23 November, and the inaugural Dubai Yoga event on 30 November at Zabeel Park. Alongside these, three Fitness Villages and 24 Community Hubs continue to offer free daily sessions citywide.
Organized by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Sports Council, the event is presented by RTA, with partners including Decathlon, Hatta Kayak, and Mai Dubai.
