Dubai: For the first time, Dubai Ride 2024 introduced exclusive speed laps for experienced cyclists, giving them the chance to race down the iconic Sheikh Zayed Road.
Part of the Dubai Fitness challenge, a vibrant parade led by Dubai Police’s cyber truck and a group of delivery riders flagged off the fifth edition of the Dubai Ride.
The event began at 5 am on November 10, specifically for participants over the age of 21. Last year, 35,000 people participated in the event.
Cyclists maintained an average speed of 30 km/h along the 12 km route, starting from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back. Riders were required to exit the route by 6 am.
Sheikh Zayed Road is temporarily closed on November 10 for the event, with alternate routes provided for drivers.

Thousands of experienced and amateur cyclists took to Sheikh Zayed Road for the iconic Dubai Ride. Some dressed in their professional gear while others donned the purple T-shirts given out this year as part of the cycling mega event to registered participants. Still others chose to go all out and dress up to a theme.
Dubai Ride supports the vision of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council, to turn the city into one of the most active places globally, contributing to the larger goal of making Dubai the best city to live, work, and visit.
