Dubai: Dubai Health has officially adopted the Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Initiative (PSFHI), aligning its patient safety protocols with World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
This significant step solidifies the organization’s dedication to providing the highest standards of patient care, which is in line with its ‘Patient First’ philosophy.
The PSFHI framework ensures that patient safety is prioritized at every stage within Dubai Health’s integrated healthcare system. This initiative also fosters an environment that encourages collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. Furthermore, it is in line with Dubai’s Social Agenda 33, which seeks to establish a world-class healthcare system characterized by excellence and efficiency.
Dr. Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health emphasized that, “A strong safety culture enables us to deliver exceptional outcomes while focusing on the well-being of our patients. Every day, our teams go above and beyond to ensure the safety and comfort of those who entrust us with their care. Their passion and dedication are remarkable, and we are immensely grateful for their contributions.”
Dr. Tarek Fathey, Chief Clinical Officer at Dubai Health highlighted that, “Patient safety is not just a goal; it’s a guiding principle behind every decision we make. We are committed to setting new standards that safeguard our patients and empower our teams to deliver the highest quality of care.”
Dr. Fathey added that the initiative will be further enhanced with expertise from world-renowned patient safety expert, Professor Charles Vincent of the University of Oxford, who is set to collaborate with Dubai Health in December 2024.
“By embedding a culture of safety within our organization, we are ensuring that every team member plays a critical role in setting a new standard for patient care. The safety and well-being of our patients will be the primary focus of everything we do,” Dr. Entesar Alhammadi, Chair of Patient Safety and Quality at Dubai Health remarked.
