Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Women’s Committee, in cooperation with Dubai Women Establishment (DWE), has organised the second Dubai Government Women Committees Forum, highlighting the constructive ideas and innovative initiatives launched by the government organisations to empower women and enhance their active contribution in all fields.
The forum was held at the DEWA Campus for Occupational and Academic Development and witnessed the participation of 14 women’s committees from various Dubai government departments and organizations. It featured panel discussions and brainstorming sessions to exchange knowledge, experiences, and success stories.
This model is supported by the vision of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU). DEWA is one of the national organisations that supports women in the energy sector, especially in clean and renewable energy and sustainability. This makes it a role model for public and private government organisations inside and outside the UAE,” Mr. Al Tayer added.
Ms. Fatima Al Jokar, Chairperson of DEWA Women’s Committee, remarked that “DEWA Women’s Committee organises events, activities, and benchmarking. It participates in local and international events to exchange knowledge and expertise and promote cooperation.”
“The Committee is keen to have effective partnerships with the concerned authorities and organisations to provide female employees with the necessary expertise and knowledge. It provides all the opportunities and capabilities that enable women employees in different positions to succeed and develop. This achieves their happiness and that of their families,” Ms. Al Jokar added.
