Dubai: The 6th Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), the largest to date, has begun, featuring hundreds of family-friendly activities and workouts spread over record-breaking 19 fitness centers throughout the city over 30 days of action-packed events.
19 new fitness hubs have been opened by DFC this year in a variety of local neighborhoods throughout the city, including Bluewaters, Champs Sports & Fitness Club, Dubai Design District (D3), DIFC, DMCC in Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dragon Mart, Dubai Police Officers Club, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Inspiratus Sports District (ISD) at Dubai Sports City, Dubai Hatta Hub, Mohammed bin Rashid Library (MBRL), The Palm Jumeirah, The Space at Dubai Investment Park, Zabeel Ladies Club, Zabeel Sports District, The Beach at JBR, Sports Society, Dubai Hills Mall and Dubai Festival City Mall.
Every fitness centre helps DFC achieve its objective of motivating everyone to get 30 minutes of exercise every day for 30 days in order to build a fitter future. In their local communities, Dubai residents can participate in dynamic HIIT sessions, SH-BAM dancing workouts, or other types of physical activity from dawn to sunset.
Numerous free activities are available to residents, including Treadmill Challenges, Body Combat, Spin, and Zumba classes, as well as Hiking and Mountain climbing in the Hatta Wadi, a Yoga and Pilates session at sunrise or attempting a completely new sport or activity, such as martial arts or aquatic sports.
Family-friendly sessions will inspire residents of all ages and abilities to get inspired and active, while group activities geared toward children will get kids moving and promote team building and sportsmanship. Female-only workouts, guided by female fitness instructors and personal trainers, will encourage women of all ages to join forces and support one another in their fitness pursuits.
Mass participation events will take place all through the month to motivate communities to bond while exercising. The Beach fitness hub will host fitness classes at the lawn area (opposite Pavilion at The Beach) from Friday to Sunday 2 times a day, Sunrise (8:30 AM) & Sunset (5:30 PM) sessions from 29th October to 27th November 2022.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, launched the flagship fitness initiative in 2012, and the 2022 edition boasts the city’s largest-ever calendar of free and open-to-all fitness events, activities, and classes.
